Wheelchairs - A Guide To Independence

A while back, a friend of mine was dealing with some difficulties. I saw less and less of her, and she seemed to be feeling in pretty low spirits. I couldn't blame her either. If I were not able to do the things in life I normally do, I'd probably feel the same way.

You may be there too. Just know that it doesn't matter what got you to where you are -- what matters is that you know how she found her way out of it. She's back to her normal self now.

It took some time. She first had to accept the fact that she needed a wheelchair. She told me once that she felt like she was succumbing to her illness by caving in and getting a wheelchair. After some encouragement and some time online looking at what's available, she started to get excited.

We found more than what we were looking for right away, from jazzy wheelchairs to lightweight wheelchairs, to mobility power chairs, there wasn't much we didn't find. They didn't look stuffy or old-fashioned at all, and they were very customizable. There were so many options available. She was starting to like this idea! The Jazzy electric wheel chair was what we finally decided on after looking through all of the power chairs available. She picked her favorite color for the body of the chair and added the accessories she wanted most, like a cupholder and a basket on the front to carry her things. The seat and handles were ergonomically designed for ultimate comfort.

When her chair finally was delivered, she had to make some adjustments. Despite a couple of mishaps, she managed to learn how to use it quite well, and is now operating it without problems. It didn't take long though for her to master her Jazzy electric wheelchair, and now it's just natural to her.

The best part was that she regained her happiness and her sense of dignity again. She was able to do things for herself now instead of having to rely on others.

Reclaiming Your Independence With The Help of Wheelchairs

Some time ago, I was helping a friend through some difficult times. Her health was getting worse and so was her general feeling of well-being. Actually if I were to loose the ability to do basic things in life, stuff like getting to the post office, or even going to get the mail, I think I'd be a little down too.

If this sounds familiar, trust me when I say that there's hope. It doesn't matter whether you're overweight, have a medical condition, or just that you've gotten a little older, if you do what she did, you'll feel back to your old self again. She'll vouch for that.

It didn't happen overnight, but once she accepted that she had to have a wheelchair, that was the first step (no pun intended). She told me once that she felt like she was succumbing to her illness by caving in and getting a wheelchair. I told her that it wasn't like giving up! And wheelchairs had come a long way in the last 10 years. We went online together to look at the newest developments in wheelchairs, and she started to get really excited about owning one.

We found out that there were a lot of jazzy wheelchairs to choose from. We also found everything from lightweight wheelchairs, to motorized wheelchairs. They were REALLY nice! They looked great, and they had a lot of features. I could sense her excitement as she found out all of the optional equipment you could get. After we researched the various models available and finally settled on a Jazzy electric wheel chair, she was really happy with her choice. She picked out he basket and cupholder as accessories, and also picked out a nice color.

When the wheelchair came to her door, it took a little adjusting. Despite a couple of mishaps, she managed to learn how to use it quite well, and is now operating it without problems. It didn't take long though for her to master her Jazzy electric wheelchair, and now it's just natural to her.

Because she was able to do stuff on her own now, without having to ask other people for help, she has regained a sense of pride and dignity.
