A new DWP report, based on 9,000 telephone interviews, examines what happens to claimants who cease to claim Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA), Income Support (IS) or Employment and Support Allowance (ESA). It finds that within 7 to 8 months 33% of all claimants had made a new benefit claim but 61% cent of all claimants were neither working nor claiming on ending their claims.
