The first position is to have both the head and feet raised, which is beneficial for sufferers of respirator complaints such as asthma, emphysema, bronchitis and snoring.

The second position is to have only the feet raised, which suits those who are troubled by poor circulation or swelling due to water retention.

The third position is the contour, where one assumes the common foetal position by lying on his or her back, not the side. This means that one’s body is totally and evenly supported, with all pressure points minimised.

The fourth and last is the side sleeping position, which enables the spine to maintain its alignment and helps alleviate pressure on the hip.
